How do you check and appeal a traffic fine in Turkey?

Look up the fine on e-Devlet
Sign in at turkiye.gov.tr, type "traffic fine" into the search box and open the "Traffic Fine Debt Inquiry and Payment" service. The list shows the report number, the legal article, the reason for the fine and the amount. Print the screen or save it as a PDF for your records.
Check the report detail and service status
On the same screen, check whether the fine was handed to you in person or sent to your registered address. The service date is when the objection period starts, so this detail is critical. If a fine appears that you do not recognise, also confirm your address is current through the "Address Information" service on e-Devlet.
Request a copy of the report from the authority
If you plan to object, contact the unit that issued the fine: the traffic enforcement branch, the gendarmerie traffic team or the municipal police. Ask for a copy of the report and, where relevant, the radar or camera footage. This document becomes the basis of your petition. You can also make the request in writing through CIMER.
Draft the objection petition
Address the petition to the "DUTY CRIMINAL COURT OF PEACE". Include your identity and address details, the report number, the authority that issued the fine, and list point by point why it is unlawful. In the conclusion, state that you request the administrative sanction decision be lifted. List your evidence as annexes and sign the petition.
File the petition with the criminal court of peace
Take the petition and annexes to the courthouse front desk and get a stamped receipt in return. If you live in another province, you can file with the duty criminal court of peace where you are and ask for it to be forwarded to the competent court. No court fee is charged for these objections.
Track the case on UYAP
Sign in through the "UYAP Citizen Portal" link under the Ministry of Justice services on e-Devlet, or go to vatandas.uyap.gov.tr. Under "My Files" you will see the case number and the status of your objection. Once a decision is issued, download the reasoned decision from the "Documents" tab.
Pay or escalate based on the outcome
If your objection is accepted, the fine is cancelled and no payment is due. If it is rejected, you can object to a higher court following the procedure stated in the reasoned decision, or pay through the same e-Devlet screen or the Digital Tax Office. Keep the receipt after payment.

The most common mistake is missing the objection deadline. The clock starts on the date the fine is served on you, and a petition filed after that is rejected without any review of the merits. An unpaid fine is also transferred to the tax office and pursued with late payment interest, which can escalate as far as your driving licence being seized.
