How do you enroll your child in school in Turkey?

A step-by-step guide to registering a child for primary or middle school through e-Devlet and the school administration.

Short answer

Step by step

Check the registered address

Because placement follows your address, open "Address Information Inquiry" under Civil Registry services on e-Devlet and verify both your own and your child's address. If it is out of date, fix it at the civil registry office or through the residence declaration service on e-Devlet. A stale address sends your child to a school you did not expect.

Open the registration screen on e-Devlet

Sign in at turkiye.gov.tr and type "Milli Eğitim Bakanlığı" in the search box. Pick the "e-Okul Parent Information System" or the "Student Registration / Transfer" service that opens during the enrollment period. Enter your child's national ID number to load the registration screen.

Review and confirm the assigned school

The screen shows the school assigned by address, the grade level, and the current registration status. If everything looks right, complete the confirm or final registration step. If you want a different school, use the transfer or preference section on the same screen to apply.

Deliver the documents to the school office

Go to the assigned school and speak with the vice principal or the staff member handling enrollment. Hand over your child's ID, the vaccination card, and any other documents the school requests, then sign the registration form as the parent. The school then switches the record to active student status in e-Okul.

Track the class and section assignment

Once enrollment is done, log in to the e-Okul Parent Information System with your national ID and your child's details. The student information screen lists the grade, section, and teacher. If nothing appears, ask the school whether the registration has been entered into the system.

Sort out transport, meals, and uniforms

Ask the school administration whether there is a bus route, a meal service, and a uniform policy. Sign up through the parent-teacher association or whichever channel the administration points you to. These are separate from enrollment itself but should be settled before term starts.
