How do you cancel an automatic payment order?
How to switch off bill and card autopay instructions yourself from your bank's mobile app in a few minutes.

Short answer
Log in to your bank's mobile app, open Payments and tap Bill Payment or Automatic Payment Orders. Select the order you want to stop, choose Cancel Order and complete the confirmation step, entering the SMS code if one is sent. Refresh My Orders to confirm the record is gone, then save the cancellation receipt or reference number.
What you need
Step by step
Log in to the app
Open your bank's mobile app and sign in with your password, fingerprint or face recognition. If you prefer internet banking, log in with your customer number and password. Cancelling an order requires identity verification, so it cannot be done through guest access.
Open the list of orders
Tap the Payments or Transactions tab in the bottom menu, then select Bill Payment or Automatic Payment Orders. Depending on the bank, the menu may be named My Orders, Payment Orders or Recurring Payments. This screen shows every order defined on your account in one list.
Select the order to cancel
Check the provider name and subscriber number in the list, then tap the matching order. The detail screen shows the debited account or card, the upper payment limit and the provider details. If several records belong to the same provider, compare subscriber numbers so you open the right one.
Cancel and confirm
Tap Cancel Order, Delete or Cancel on the detail screen. Choose Confirm in the warning dialog, and enter the verification code if the bank sends one by SMS. Once it goes through, the screen displays a cancelled notice along with a transaction number.
Close card-based orders separately
Digital subscriptions, insurance or membership fees charged to a card may not appear in the bank's order list. For these, check Recurring Card Orders or Subscription Management under My Cards. If there is no record there either, you have to cancel from the service provider's own account settings.
Verify with a document
Download the result screen as a PDF or take a screenshot. Refresh the My Orders list and confirm the record has disappeared. To be certain, call the provider's contact centre or customer service and have them confirm the order is closed on their side too.
Tips
Watch out
The most common mistake is assuming the subscription ends when you cancel the order at the bank. Cancelling only closes the payment method; your contract with the provider stays active and invoices keep being issued. Unpaid bills can lead to late interest, service cutoff or even debt collection. To end the service itself, file a separate cancellation request with the provider.
Frequently asked questions
+Does the cancellation take effect immediately?
It usually closes at the bank the moment you confirm, but if a payment instruction for that period has already entered the system, the collection may still go through. Confirming with the provider is the safest route.
+Is there a fee for cancelling an order?
Cancelling an automatic payment order is offered free of charge as a banking transaction. You can still check your own bank's current terms under Fees and Commissions in the app.
+What if the payment is listed but there is no cancel button?
That record may have been set up by the provider. Call the contact centre to ask which side manages it, and cancel through the provider's customer service if needed.
+Can I set up an order for the same bill again later?
Yes. Use Add New Order in the same menu, enter the subscriber number and define the order again. The new order takes effect from the next billing period.
+Can I stop a card subscription payment through the bank?
The subscription management screen under My Cards lets you stop some payments. If your bank does not offer it, you have to cancel from the service's own account settings.
