How do you revoke a Turkish notary power of attorney?
Check how long your power of attorney stays valid and cancel it step by step with a notarised revocation deed.
Short answer
If no expiry date is written in the power of attorney, it stays valid until the underlying task is finished or you revoke it. To cancel, visit any notary in Turkey and have a revocation deed (azilname) drawn up; the notary serves it on your agent. You must also file a certified copy with every institution where the document was used, such as the land registry, your bank and vehicle registration.

Read the wording of the power of attorney
Check your copy for a clause such as "this power of attorney is valid until [date]". If no term is stated, the authority continues until the task it covers is completed or until you revoke it. Note whether you granted a general power of attorney or one with specific powers, because that defines the scope of what you are cancelling.
Query the document on e-Devlet
Sign in at turkiye.gov.tr, type "noter" in the search box and open the Notary Transaction Inquiry service run by the Turkish Notaries Union to list documents issued in your name. This also surfaces powers of attorney you forgot about or never knew existed. Save the notary office name and document details, as the revocation deed asks for them.
Book a notary appointment
On the Turkish Notaries Union appointment page, pick your province and district, list the available notary offices and select power of attorney / revocation as the transaction type. You are not obliged to return to the notary that issued the original; any notary office can handle a revocation. Some offices accept walk-ins, so confirm by phone.
Have the revocation deed drawn up
Go to the notary with your ID and state that you wish to dismiss your agent, asking for an azilname. The clerk enters the details of the power of attorney and your agent's identity information into the text, and you read and sign it. After signing, request certified copies, since you will need them for the institutions involved.
Have the deed served on your agent
Ask the notary to serve the revocation on your agent, because the dismissal only takes effect once the agent is aware of it. Service goes to the agent's address through the notary and a service record stays in the file. If the address has changed, give the notary the last known address plus any contact details you have.
Notify the relevant institutions
If the power of attorney was used at the land registry, a bank, the tax office, vehicle registration or social security, submit a copy of the revocation to the relevant unit in person or through the institution's official channel. Until it is recorded, your agent is not actually blocked. At a bank, go to the branch rather than the call centre and get a document receipt number.
Confirm the cancellation
After a few business days, reopen the notary transaction inquiry on e-Devlet and check that the revocation appears in the list. For property, use the Tapu Bilgilerim service on e-Devlet; for banking, get confirmation from the branch. Verify the timing and final status with the notary office and each institution.

Watch out
Signing the revocation deed is not enough on its own. Transactions carried out before your agent is served and before the institutions record the cancellation can still be valid, and the liability falls on you. Deliver the land registry and bank notifications in person and keep the document receipt details.

+If no expiry date is written, is the power of attorney unlimited?
Without a stated term it does not lapse by itself. It remains valid until the task it covers is completed, one of the parties dies, or a revocation or resignation takes place.
+Must I go back to the notary that issued the power of attorney?
No. Any notary office in Turkey can prepare the revocation deed, and if you are abroad a Turkish consulate can handle the same transaction.
+I do not know my agent's address. Is the revocation still valid?
The deed can be drawn up, but its effect depends on service. Give the notary the last known address and ask the office how to proceed if service fails.
+Can I complete the cancellation entirely on e-Devlet?
You can view and query your powers of attorney on e-Devlet, but the revocation itself requires a signature before a notary, so it cannot be finished online.
+Are transactions my agent made after the revocation cancelled?
Transactions made in good faith before service can remain valid. That is why you should get the revocation to both your agent and the institutions as quickly as possible.
