How do you track a passport application and its delivery?
Check where your passport application stands yourself, using e-Devlet status queries and PTT shipment tracking.

Step by step
Keep your application receipt
When your appointment at the civil registry office is finished, you are handed a passport application receipt. The application number and PTT barcode number printed on it unlock every later query. Photograph it and save the image on your phone so a lost paper does not stop you.
Check your contact and address details
On e-Devlet Kapısı, open "İletişim Bilgilerim" (My Contact Details) in your profile to confirm your phone number and email, then verify your address through "Address Change Notification" or the "Place of Residence Certificate" service. The passport is couriered to your registered address, so a wrong address delays delivery or sends the parcel back.
Query the status on e-Devlet
Go to turkiye.gov.tr, sign in, and type "pasaport" in the search box. Open the "Passport Application Status Query" service run by the Directorate General of Civil Registration and Citizenship Affairs and press "Sorgula" (Query). The screen shows which stage your application has reached and, after printing, the courier details.
Follow the PTT shipment tracking
Once the passport is printed and handed to the courier, a barcode number appears on the e-Devlet screen or arrives by text message. Enter that number on the "Shipment Tracking" screen at ptt.gov.tr or in the PTTM mobile app to see where the parcel is. The same query tells you whether it has gone out for delivery.
Collect the passport
If nobody is home during delivery, take your ID to the PTT branch named on the notice slip left in your mailbox. A passport is released only to its holder or to someone holding a properly issued power of attorney. For a child's passport, a parent must attend with their own ID.
Chase the institution if it stalls
If the query screen shows no progress, call the provincial or district civil registry office where you applied. For problems on the courier side, contact PTT customer services. If that fails, file a written request through the "CİMER Application" service on e-Devlet and keep the reference number.

Watch out
Losing the barcode number on the application receipt is the most common mistake, and without it courier tracking becomes difficult. If the parcel cannot be delivered to your address and is not collected within the holding period, it is returned to sender, and you then have to correspond with the civil registry office again to get your passport.
